Volunteer Centre talks a lot about charity and pays significant attention to the development of charitable projects at HSE University. This way, the centre oversees and administratively supports charitable student organization.
Volunteer Centre helps organizations in holding events and supports charity fairs and grant-funded student projects.
Charitable student organizations at HSE
HSE Outreach is the oldest and one of the largest charitable organizations at HSE. Students visit children group homes with master classes, donate blood, walk with homeless animals from shelters, arrange charity fairs, seminars and lectures on how to help appropriately, record podcasts and video interviews on topics that are important for society and develop their own social board games.
Open Your Eyes is one of the largest charitable organizations at HSE, founded in 2008. Since 2019, there is also a charitable foundation with the same name. Open Your Eyes works with children and adults with special needs and animals from shelters. Every month, volunteers visit children's group homes and hold master classes, quests, and concerts there. Students promote the ideas of charity within the university community by organizing charity fair and collection or blood drives, as well as large inclusive events.
HSE for Kids is a community of counselors and proactive educators at HSE University. Volunteers organize educational and recreational activities for children and teenagers online and in-person, running sports activities and creative and other master classes and lectures. During the second half of the year, HSE for Kids holds a Counselor School to train future camp counselors. Successful participants receive an official certificate that allows them to work in any children's camp in Russia
HSE Green is a student organization that is engaged in environmental education and promotion of sustainable practices. Volunteers regularly hold ecological events and develop separate waste collection at the university. Best Buddies HSE is a part of the international Best Buddies movement, which helps adults with disabilities become leaders, find jobs and friends. Volunteers organize trips to the countryside for them, excursions to museums, creative workshops, film screenings and friendly meetings.
Light Hearts is a charitable educational project in which volunteers can act as tutors or mentors for children who do not have the opportunity to gain good knowledge. Volunteers conduct lessons in several Moscow children's group homes helping children to master the school curriculum and prepare for exams.
