Developing Blood Donation
Blood donation plays a key role in healthcare and society. Donated blood is essential for transfusions in cases of trauma, complex surgeries, childbirth, and serious illnesses. A single donor can save the lives of three people by donating just 450 ml of blood at a time.
Donation not only saves lives but also offers significant health benefits for the donors themselves. At HSE University, Donor Days are held several times a year by various student organizations and the Center for Leadership and Volunteering. Furthermore, the university is home to the unified donor movement HSE Pulse. The project has its own Telegram channel, which raises awareness among HSE students and staff about donation as a cause, as well as the benefits of donating blood, its components, and bone marrow cells. You can learn more about our donor movement, interesting facts about the development of donation in Russia, and useful information for first-time donors on the movement's website.
